The Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Arbërie Nagavci in 'Kallxo Përnime' commented on the recent demands of the United Trade Union for Education, Science and Culture (SBASHK) and the recent protest that in many schools teachers did not attend classes due to saj.
She said she supports demands for better working conditions, but not to not teach in this situation when the pandemic has left many days of school missed.
"We are working as a government with a great commitment to the Law on Wages which is a fair requirement and is one of the needs for public officials, but of course I do not support for any moment the denial of students' basic right to education," said Nagavci.
She added that teachers have the right to protest, but not to waste hours.
"Teachers have the right to protest, to fulfill all their demands, there are different forms before the strike and I believe that in this period that we are there have been great losses caused by the pandemic, at the end of the school year, the denial of "The right to education of students is to the detriment of all of us," said Nagavci.
The Minister of Education added that she has met with the chairman of SBASHK whenever he has requested.
"Mr. Jashari has met with me every time he needed to, it is a sin for the education system to be influenced so much by the union leaders because I am convinced that it is not the will of the teachers not to do their job and not to offer teaching students ", said Nagavci.
She added that they have asked the education directorates for the lost hours and stressed that every lost hour should be compensated./kallxo
