What was discussed at Osman's meeting with representatives of the Venice Commission?

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, received today a delegation from the Venice Commission, consisting of rapporteur Grainne McMorrow, Deputy Secretary Schnutz Dürr, and the Head of the Council of Europe Office in Kosovo, Frank Power.

During the meeting, Osmani explained the need for a vetting process in the Kosovo justice system, with the necessary constitutional and legal changes.

Osmani stressed that a proper and professional vetting process is vital to strengthen the rule of law, as well as to guarantee the integrity, efficiency and professionalism of the justice system. As such, the vetting process aims to strengthen the quality of the justice system, which directly affects the improvement of the lives of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.

During the meeting, the relations and professional cooperation between Kosovo and the Venice Commission were discussed.

Osmani expressed gratitude for the continuous support that the Venice Commission has provided to the Republic of Kosovo.
