The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has warned that 90% of people inside Ukraine could fall into poverty if Russia continues its attack.

"We are talking about nine out of 10 Ukrainians who fall into poverty if this war continues until the end of the year," said ManDP Fouani, UNDP Deputy Representative in Ukraine.

She said this was a "shocking number", given that the country's poverty rate was only 2.5% shortly before the start of the war.

Fouani said that by the end of the year, 18 years of profits could be lost - "investments of the European Union and all donors and development partners in this country over the last 20 years", writes BBC./21Media
