Bislimi says Serbia used the meeting to deceive internationals

The First Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bilsimi, after failing to reach an agreement in Brussels on Friday in the last round of talks with Serbia, stated that Serbs used the meeting only to deceive the community international for their alleged willingness to talk.

According to him, the last opportunity to find a good solution for citizens on the issue of license plates was shamelessly wasted and with an irritating approach.

"The meeting was convened after the guarantee of the Serbian side that they will eventually be constructive and will come up with a concrete proposal for a permanent solution to the problem of license plates, which will be in line with European best practices. Instead, they used the meeting only to deceive the international community about their alleged willingness to talk and to pour out a series of reckless statements to reporters. "Unfortunately, the last opportunity to find a good solution for the citizens on the issue of license plates was shamelessly wasted and with an irritating approach", said Bislimi.

He also rejected the statements that the Kosovar side was not ready for a trilateral meeting.

"The statement of our party's unwillingness for a trilateral meeting was also very meaningless, as it was our team that insisted on a tripartite meeting, but Belgrade did not give them permission for that," Bislimi continued.
