A 14-year-old girl in Georgia has been killed after her 13-year-old brother allegedly shot her with a homemade gun.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said Kyra Scott was killed while her brother, who manufactures "ghost guns," was selling one of his guns to two buyers.

Speaking Wednesday, officers said the two clients arrived at the family home in Douglasville, 20 miles west of Atlanta, on Nov. 27 with the intention of buying one of the home-made guns, rtv21.tv reports.

However, the couple then stole the gun and tried to leave, in which case the 13-year-old shot at them, accidentally hitting his sister.

Police investigating the incident believe Kyra was shot by one of the homemade weapons.

Following the incident, Kyra's 13-year-old brother and one of the buyers, Yusef Jabryil McArthur El, 19, were arrested.

Douglas County Sheriff Tim Pounds said Kyra's brother has been charged with aggravated murder, while McArthur El has been charged with robbery and aggravated murder.

Authorities are currently still looking for a second buyer.21Media
