The President of Albania, Ilir Meta today will stay in Kosovo, where together with the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani will participate in the celebration of the 110th anniversary of the Assembly of Junik scheduled to be held from 13:00.

In advance, Presidents Osmani and Meta will lay flowers at the bust of the hero Edmond Hoxha in Junik.

The Assembly of Junik was held from 21 to 25 May 1912 in Junik at the initiative of Hasan Prishtina and was attended by 250 delegates from the Vilayet of Kosovo, the Sanjaks of Dibra, Shkodra and Elbasan. Thanks to the efforts of Hasan Prishtina, Bajram Curri and Isa Boletini, the actions of Turkoman elements in the ranks of the movement have been paralyzed.

Most of the participants in the Assembly had decided to continue the armed uprising, thus pledging allegiance and deciding to undertake a general uprising.

The Assembly had approved the political program, which contained demands for the autonomy of Albania, the establishment of the Albanian administration, the designation of the Albanian language with the national alphabet as the official language, the raising of the Albanian flag throughout the country and the guarantee of the Great Powers to meet the requirements.
