Two new banknotes in the Albanian market

Today, the Bank of Albania has launched the next two denominations of the new series of Albanian banknotes

It is about cutting with a legal course, 500 lekë and 2000 lekë.

Both banknotes come with a refreshed design, but retain the same motifs presented in the respective existing denominations. They reflect changes related to the overall configuration of the added and improved elements of banknote design and security.

The 500 lekë banknote has changed its appearance from the portrait of Ismail Qemali (1844-1919), the symbol of the eagle and the pen with which the act of independence was signed "in the building where the declaration of independence took place, the telegraph with which the news spread of the declaration of independence and the chamber where the decision was made ”.

Whereas, the 2000 lekë banknote has changed its appearance from "Portrait of King Gent, the last ruler of the Illyrian state", to "Elements of the architecture of Illyrian antiquity, as well as the medicinal plant Gentiana Lutea".21Media
